The Step-by-Step Flow Of The Process For Getting Veneers Simplified

Getting porcelain veneers feels like a huge step. After all, it’s not every day you get a brand new smile. But at Canyon Crossing Dental in Ivins, Utah, Dr. Susan Baker and her team make the process for getting veneers as seamless as possible. Your goal is a gorgeous smile. You can leave all the logistics to us.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are made from premium-quality dental ceramic. They’re ultra-thin shells that Dr. Baker bonds to the front of your teeth. Veneers are custom-made for you. Porcelain is naturally stain-resistant and super durable.

Why Are Porcelain Veneers So Popular?

Most importantly, they look natural because they reflect light just like your real teeth do. But they also last a long time, so there’s not much expensive upkeep. Best of all, you get immediate results. Walk in and walk out with a brand-new smile.

Am I a Good Candidate for Veneers?

The first thing Dr. Baker will look at is whether or not your teeth and gums are healthy. Once you’re approved, you can fix any of these cosmetic dental problems with veneers:

  • Teeth with chips or cracks
  • Gaps between your teeth
  • Teeth have become worn down
  • Uneven teeth
  • Slightly crooked teeth
  • Staining that can’t be fixed with teeth whitening

What Happens at My Veneers Consultation?

Dr. Baker will discuss what you hope to see in your new smile. Then she’ll examine your teeth and gums to ensure they’re healthy enough for veneers. If you’re good to go, the team will build your treatment plan. Once all that’s done, impressions are sent to the lab.

What Is the Process for Getting Veneers?

All you need to do is focus on how much you’ll love your new smile. Dr. Baker and her team will go through all these steps and make it as easy as possible for you.

  1. Consultation and treatment plan.
  2. A tiny amount of enamel is removed from the front of your teeth.
  3. Impressions are taken for the lab.
  4. Temporary veneers are put in place.
  5. When they’re ready, Dr. Baker checks the color and fit.
  6. Veneers are applied with a strong bonding agent.
  7. A special light hardens it all into place.
  8. You have your new smile!

How Long Do Porcelain Veneers Last?

If you take good care of your teeth and gums, your veneers will last between 10 and 15 years. Sometimes longer! It depends almost entirely on your daily habits and on following the instructions Dr. Baker gives you. Be sure to keep going for checkups every six months.

How Do I Take Care of My Veneers?

Brush and floss as normal. Dr. Baker will recommend that you avoid biting or chewing very hard foods. And don’t bite on hard objects and use your teeth as tools. If you grind your teeth at night, talk to Dr. Baker about a night guard.
